The difference between GM and Ford Power Steering fluid is in their chemical composition. Both have unique blends designed to work best in their equipment.
Red is the "normal" power steering fluid. If you can't get "power steering fluid," Dexron automatic transmission fluid is the same stuff. Clear is Honda power steering fluid.
Transmission fluid should not be used in place of power steering fluid. Power steering fluid is less compressible so that it can transfer power to different systems. Transmission fluid is meant for lubrication and has higher dimulsibility than power steering fluid.
you use what is recommended for it. actually power steering fluid is power steering fluid just with different levels of quality. if it's not in the manual, use lucas power steering fluid. dont use any power steerinf fluid stop leak.
No, Kia power steering fluid is not exchangeable with its transmission fluid. These are two completely different fluids mean for completely different part of the car.
There is not much difference between power steering and transmission fluid. Many people use power steering in place of transmission fluid because it is cheaper.
YES. your power steering pump is a hydraulic pump that pushes fluid through lines to make your wheels move. hydraulic fluid such as ATF or POWER STEERING FLUID is good for your power steering pump. it is a PUMP after all. OIL has the purpose of lubricating, and has very different qualities than hydraulic fluid. DO NOT put OIL in your power steering pump... put POWER STEERING FLUID or if you can't get power steering fluid AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID will do...
you have to take the central console (between the front seats) out. under there is the well for power steering fluid.
no. No. They are for different purposes
The power steering fluid recommended is Mopar
power steering fluid is fluid that makes the power steering pump work and it goes in the power steering pump under the hood.
NO NO NO!!!! OMG I hope you did not try that already. Break fluid and powersteering fluid have different properties for different pressures, they are not the same thing and if you put break fluid in your power steering system you will destroy your car.
Remove the plug on the bottom of the power steering fluid pump. Drain the power steering fluid out. Replace the plug to the bottom of the power steering pump. Replace the power steering fluid.
