yes, easily...you will need a new head unit though. if you want a sub you will need a head unit with RCA outputs to connect the ammplifier. i run a panasonic head unit, 1200w amp, 2 12" subs, 4 mids and 2 tweeters in my 89' familia
Subs generally run off a separate dedicated amplifier, and are connected to the head unit by a non powered output cable. There aren't many head units that can drive a sub.
you would just install them like you would on a normal car, but I'm assuming you are using the stock head unit which doesn't have RCA outputs, so you will need to buy a line output converter to run the RCA cables from the head unit to the subs
"When you go to change the radio in a 2001 Jetta with a Monsoon system is ther anyway to keep the 6 disc CD changer and add a new head unit with subs and new speakers?"
Because of the blue power remote wire leading from your head unit to your subwoofer amplifier acts like a light switch. When you turn your head unit(stereo) on it turns on your amp powering the subwoofer but if you use blue tooth the unit is designed for talking not for bass so it will not send sound signal to the subs.
radio = head unit same thing, different names
You can remove the radio unit from your 1997 Nova with a flat head screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver. You will not need any other tools to complete the task.
Unit of head pressure is psi.
that head unit does NOT have an internal amplifier so you MUST use external amplification. You cannot hook it up to your car speakers and get sound. It is a pre-amp head unit ONLY. No internal amp however makes for the cleanest purest audio source that could be had in that day so it is a superb head unit for sound quality. At the very least you need a 2 ch. amp with a set of components or coaxials running off of the front set of RCA's but you can do a nice multiamp setup with this unit as well.. cheers
I dont advise it, but if you have a stock head unit, you will have to run your subs off of the door speakers. they will not be getting as much power as they should and neither will your door speakers.
wired into the head unit, need a special adaptor. its hopeless
