Motor oil does in fact freeze. Most motor oil never actually reaches the point where it is cold enough to freeze though.
Motor oil is usually not a single substance but rather a mixture of similar substances and as such does not usually freeze so much as congeal. The exact temperature would depend on the precise composition anyway.
there are 8 freeze plugs on the water jacket and 6 oil freeze plugs however you will have to pull the engine to get to the back of the motor to replace the 3 oil and 2 of the water jacket plugs
