IF... the crank sensor was the problem then it might. However, it is unlikely. I agree, although they are known to crack, It usually results in a no start condition from what I have seen.
Replacing spark plugs can help stop engine stalling if the current plugs are worn or fouled, as they are crucial for proper ignition. However, stalling can also be caused by other issues, such as fuel delivery problems, air intake issues, or sensor malfunctions. It's important to diagnose the root cause of the stalling to ensure that simply replacing the plugs will resolve the issue. Regular maintenance and inspection can help identify and fix potential problems before they lead to stalling.
Camshaft position sensor. There is a recall for them i believe. It will cause cutting out and stalling. It happened to ours too. Camshaft position sensor. There is a recall for them i believe. It will cause cutting out and stalling. It happened to ours too.
AnswerI would replace the control module in the distributor; they are heat sensitive. If that doesn't fix it, try replacing the oxygen sensor.
Blown ignition fuse? If not, maybe a broken camshaft/gear?
Check the oxygen sensor. My 1995 Grand Cherokee stopped stalling while driving after it was replaced.
The temperature sensor needs Replacing.
Not starting when hot, or stalling ang bucking after driving or idleing in hot weather. pour cold water on sensor after no start condition to test it ( on back of head )
Many things can cause a car to not start after shutting down. But here is my story...I had a car where the crankshaft positioning sensor was covered in oil from a leaking valve cover gasket. This caused the sensor to fail and only work for about 30 minutes after starting. This part need replacing and the valve covers taken care of. Very hard to diagnose but I was persistent and got it. Replacing the sensor took a 10mm box end wrench, one new sensor and about 10 minutes. Took nearly a week to figure it out.
The Chevrolet Corsica 3.1 liter engine crank sensor can be found on the back of the engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crank sensor.
I have been having the same problem, I have a 99 bonny se and it stalls while driving,I actually had to replace my starter . I bought a sensor diagnostic obo2, the sensor came up mass air flow, whicch there is a actual cleaner for it . DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT IT. any parts dealer will tell you how to use. I used it and it helped i have more on the pedal but it still stalls in the same way. I was told about a vacumme canister or replacing my egr sensor, hope this helped a little... auto101...
try replacing the throttle positioning sensor AND the low idle air sensor
Does it have a miss? check plugs and wires. Also a possibility of a bad throttle position sensor.
