To replace the PTO oil seal on a Ferguson TO20, first, ensure the tractor is turned off and safely secured. Remove the PTO shaft by unbolting it, then carefully pry out the old oil seal from its housing. Clean the area thoroughly before inserting the new seal, ensuring it's seated evenly. Finally, reassemble the PTO shaft, making sure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.

Depending on which end it's coming from, you probably have either a leaking tailshaft at the PTO gearbox, or a leaking input shaft seal on the hydraulic pump.
You sure can! If it has a pto shaft, hook your 48'' or smaller tiller behind it and go!!
Just behind the PTO-lever. You remove the cover and then its possible, with some patience, to shift it.

To adjust the power take-off (PTO) on a Massey Ferguson 1135 tractor, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface and safely parked. Locate the PTO control lever, usually found on the dashboard or near the operator's seat, and adjust it to the desired position for engaging or disengaging the PTO. You may also need to check and adjust the PTO speed settings according to the implement being used. Always refer to the operator’s manual for specific instructions and safety precautions.
Typically it is the crankshaft seal which isn't too tough to replace other than you need an impact to remove the bolt holding the PTO to the crank. Once the PTO is removed, you can pry it out with a seal remover that you can buy at any auto parts store. Sometimes these engines will suck the seal between the block and sump case and that requires engine removal. A bunch of work, but still not horrible as these are pretty easy to work on.
As engine rpm increases so does pto speeed And if you tach your motor to an excessive amount of RPMs while the PTO is engaged, it will destroy that PTO, leading to zero PTO RPMs.
PTO means Professional Tryout!!!!
The Massey Ferguson 240 typically requires approximately 5.5 to 6 gallons of hydraulic fluid for the Power Take-Off (PTO) system. It's essential to use the recommended hydraulic fluid type specified in the owner's manual for optimal performance. Always check the fluid level with the dipstick and ensure it is within the recommended range. If in doubt, consult the manual for specific capacity and maintenance guidelines.
