On a 2001 Audi TT Quattro the fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank, in the right rear wheel well area. The fuel line clamps are a bit tricky. The change will improve performance. The owners manual does not even list changing the filter. But do it! I used a Fram, and it fit perfectly. Good luck.
2000-2004 Eclipse models have adopted a fuel pump module which includes a fuel filter. Fuel filter replacement is not listed in the maintenance table.

The fuel filter on a 2001 Chevy Metro LSI is located along the vehicle's frame, just beyond the fuel tank. It is positioned inline to prevent contaminants from reaching the engine and allow for easy replacement.
The 2001 discovery does not have an external fuel filter. There is only the sock filter inside of the fuel tank.
