normally a alternator that is from the factory will have motorcraft somewhere on it, if it has been rebuilt it should have a sticker somewhere on it from the shop that rebuilt it
A quick way to check alternator on any vehicle is while engine is running, carefully touch a screwdriver to the spinning part (armature) of the alternator. If it is magnatized, it is charging. If not then alternator is not charging. The voltage regulator (the thingy that tell the alternator to charge) is built into the alternator. Replace the whole thing with a rebuilt unit.
the battery will not charge properly
Any auto parts store can tell you.
Why dont YOU tell ME? sorry can't help but good luck!!
Start the car, unplug the battery the alternater should power the car. If it dies the alternator is bad. You can also get it checked at any parts store.
If it's the same size engine, it is likely the alternator will work. For confirmation, check with a local auto parts store - they can tell you a definite yes or no.
unless you know previous owners, you pretty much cannot tell if rebuilt
If you have a hitch installed under the rear bumper and round 7-pin wiring.
i cant tell you the exact specs however i just saw then ina "haynes" manuel aswell as complete alternator rebuild procedures.its 330am here to late to scan them if i remember I'll do it tomorrow
the same way you test any alternator. use a volt meter and put one lead on the positive and one on the negative of the battery and see if the volts are more than 13volts. if it is above 13 it is charging
Charging system problem. Take the ruck to the auto parts store, they can tell you what is wrong, probably the alternator.
In most cases if it is an alternator then it has an internal regulator
