You can sometimes remove the oil filter by hand, but usually you need an oil filter wrench. Most auto supply stores and some hardware stores have these. The basic one is a metal band attached to a handle which you wrap around the filter. Others look like big pliers and others fit on a ratchet wrench. I prefer the last one.
take the filter off then unscrew the bolt at the oil filter housing
raise front off car, filter is left of starter on 3.1,get a oil filter wrench to take off.
You can unscrew your stuck oil filter with an oil filter wrench. If the oil filter wrench does not work, punch a metal rod through the oil filter. Turn the oil filter off with the metal rod.
Change your oil/filter and reset the light.
Use a quality oil filter wrench and turn the filter counterclockwise.
you drop the bottom fairing, exposing oil filter, using oil filter strap or pliers take off the old filter. wipe clean oil filter housing, lube gasket on new filter with new oil, spin on new filter, and tighten.
Place a drip pan below of the oil filter. Attach an oil filter wrench to the filter. Turn the wrench to the left. When the oil filter is loose turn with your hand until it comes off.
absoutley, this is expected.... if there isn't any oil in an oil filter that was just pulled off a car - then there is a serious issue with your car
Be sure you are installing the correct oil filter for that engine.
The oil pump is located where the oil filter screws on. Take the oil filter off and there are three or four bolts. you will see it when you get the filter off. has been a while since I change one.
i will replace it
Take the filter off and look where it mounts onto the motor to make sure there is not an old gasket stuck to it and if there is take it off and then put on a new oil filter hand tight, be sure to put oil around the gasket on the new filter before you install it.
