Look at the date code on the side of the tire. You may see a code like M609 which means the tire was manufactured the 6th week of 2009. You may also see something like R5108 which means it was made the 51st week of 2008.

If the tires on the vehicle are what the manufacture recomends go by the car specs. The tire specs only tell you max inflation for that tire.

Inside the drivers side door there is a sticker that will tell you the correct tire pressure, gvw, and other misc. information. I think its on the car and not the door itself. otherwise the tire will tell you max pressure right on the side wall.
