Keep your engine hot and running. Hold your break and place the gear stick in every gear for a second or two, then place the car back to park. Pop the hood and look for the Transmission Fluid reservoir's dipstick 'thingy'. With a clean white cloth, clean that fluid off. place the dipstick in and bring it back out to check the fluid level. the fluid level should reach the cross-hatched area marked 'hot'.
Add more fuel if necessary!

To check the transmission fluid level on a 2001 Land Rover Discovery, start with the vehicle on a level surface and the engine running. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually found near the rear of the engine bay, and remove it to wipe it clean. Reinsert the dipstick fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level, which should be between the "hot" marks if the engine is warm. If the fluid is low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
If your Impala jerks while going up hills, it could be low on transmission fluid. If it does not do it on level ground, check the fluid and replace the filter.
yes get it from the dealer.

Your '01 Lincoln Town car might not shift gears because it is low on transmission fluid or because the transmission is damaged.

The Honda passport is a sealed unit which is better serviced at the dealer. However for the mechanically inclined it does have a drain plug and a fill plug at the bottom and left side of transmission. You will need a pump to put the fluid in and when full, start vehicle and run the convertor pump should take n the fliud that's already in the transmission When transmission get to be around 110degrees pump in more fluid til it starts to run out. Then your transmission will be full. otherwise the dealer is the most logical answer.
No they do not. There is a seal between the transfur case and transmission to stop the transfur of fluid from 1 to the other.
The fill plug for the manual transmission on a 2001 PT Cruiser is located on the side of the transmission case. It is typically a square or hex-shaped plug, which allows you to use a socket or wrench to remove it. To check or add transmission fluid, you'll need to reach this plug, which is usually positioned higher up on the transmission, making it accessible from underneath the vehicle. Make sure the vehicle is level when checking the fluid level.
