To remove the wiper arm from a 1997 Dodge Dakota, first, lift the wiper arm away from the windshield to a vertical position. Locate the small retaining tab or nut at the base of the wiper arm and use a socket wrench to remove it if it's bolted on. If it's held by a tab, press the tab while pulling the arm off the spindle.
