To begin with, there is no dipstick in these cars, so how would you know if it needs it? In order to check it, it has to be raised up, leveled and at operating temperature and depending on the type od transmission, more likely a pump is necessary, best advise: take it to a professional shop, even better, to your nearest Ford dealer, that is what I normally do.
According to the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Owner Guide : The automatic transmission does not have an underhood transmission fluid dipstick
The recommended automatic transmission fluid for the 2005-2007 Mustang is Mercon V automatic transmission fluid
With your eyes.
Motorcraft MERCON - V - automatic transmission fluid in your 5 speed automatic transmission
THere is no dipstick on a 2005-2007 Mustang since Ford considereds the transmission sealed it wont need fluid added unless it has a leak or you are changing the fluid.
Mercon ATF
The automatic transmission uses Motorcraft MERCON - V - automatic transmission fluid The manual transmission uses Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid
Near the firewall , between the engine and transmission ( transaxle )
On a 2007 Ford Focus : Just the automatic transaxle ( transmission ) has a fluid level dipstick It is in the engine compartment towards the front of the vehicle ( that's not where I would be looking , but according to the drawing in the Owner Guide that's where it is )
The 1972 Ford Ranger pickup truck transmission holds 12 quarts of transmission fluid. The 1972 Ford transmission can only use a transmission fluid made for Ford transmissions.
Where do I add transmission fluid to a 1994 Ford explorer with a manual transmission?
The 1991 Ford Probe does not have a transmission fluid intake reservoir. All of the transmission fluid is contained in the transmission.
