The transmissions has more to do with it than the model of truck... it's the same process for a Kenworth W900L as it is for a Freightliner, International, Volvo, etc. You remove the transmission, take off the pressure plate, then take off the clutch plate. Ideally, you'd remove the flywheel and have it resurfaced.
Putting it back in, take a driveshaft that's been cut to align your clutch plate, then you put the pressure plate on, torque the bolts to spec, and stab the transmission back in.
The kingpin is part of the trailer, not the truck.
