To change the heater matrix on a Volvo 740, start by disconnecting the battery and draining the cooling system. Remove the dashboard and the center console to access the heater unit. Detach the heater hoses, unbolt the heater matrix from the unit, and replace it with the new one. Reassemble the components in reverse order, ensuring all connections and seals are secure before refilling the coolant and reconnecting the battery.

The arrow light in your Volvo indicates that you are driving it as a 3 speed. You can change this by simply pushing button on side of your shifter. If you do, you change it over to a 4 speed which is best for interstate driving.I learned this by reading my Volvo 740 manual.:-) Hope this helps ya.

To locate the heater coil in a 1987 Volvo 740 GLE, first, open the hood and look for the heater hoses running from the engine to the firewall. These hoses lead to the heater core, which is situated inside the cabin, behind the dashboard. You may need to remove the dashboard or access panel to fully see and reach the heater core for inspection or replacement. Always ensure the vehicle is cooled down and properly prepared before starting any work on the heating system.

Yes. The 740 and 940 are very similar and share many common parts.
you have to take the starter out of the car and dismantle it.....it's an integral unit
change the overdrive sensor should be on the left side of the gear box.
Remove the ashtray and you will find them there.
There is no cable as in conventional mechanical odometers, instead the odometer in your Volvo is electronic, sensing pulses from a sender located on top of the rear differential.
