To check the oil in the crankcase of a jet ski, first ensure the engine is turned off and on a level surface. Remove the dipstick or oil fill cap, wipe it clean, reinsert it without screwing it in, and then remove it again to check the oil level. The oil should be within the marked range on the dipstick; if it's low, add the appropriate oil type as specified in the owner's manual. Always check for any signs of contamination or unusual consistency.
