I have a 1995 Chrysler New Yorker. The alarm used to be very annoying. If you have a remote control for the car, basically consider it your source of problems. I accidentally doused mine in water and haven't used it since. I would suggest you do the same.

Now, for starters, it's a good idea to remove the Horn Relay while you work on this, so you don't disturb your neighbors. I removed the horn relay and the system will flash lights and disable the engine crank for a while. I also disconnected the entire battery (very carefully) and came back. However, it still went off. So you just have to let it run its course with the battery plugged back up, the lights will flash and you'll hear the clicking sound inside the car, but it will eventually reset itself.

The only way you will be able to accidentally set off the alarm is by unlocking the door the wrong way from the passenger side. Again, if you continue to use the remote, you'll continue to have problems. Since I've lost the remote, the alarm has only gone off once in over a years time, as opposed to it going off constantly.
