I purchased a new Peugeot 106, Independence in March 2002 and it did not have power steering. I believe that power steering was introduced later in the year, so there are probably a mixture of 106 cars from 2002 with and without power steering.

The fuel pump relay on a Peugeot 106 GTI is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard, near the driver's side. It may also be found in the engine compartment fuse box. To identify it, refer to the diagram on the fuse box cover or consult the vehicle's manual for the specific relay layout. Always ensure the ignition is off before attempting to access or replace the relay.
There aren't any, the PS is hydraulic, a pump pipes and oil
In a Peugeot 106 Zest 2 (51 plate), the power steering fuse is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. You can find the fuse box by opening the driver's door and looking beneath the steering column. The specific fuse for power steering is usually labeled in the fuse diagram found on the cover or in the owner's manual. Always ensure to check the fuse ratings and replace it with the correct type if needed.
You need to undo the two locking pins on the side, then take the steering wheel off, only in a straight angle. Dont forget to remove the casing aroung the steering column
One of the components that attach to serpentine belt have failed . Your battery light came on because alternator was not turning to generate engine, and your steering wheel was stiff because power steering pump pulley was not being turned (both driven by serpentine belt).
