To install a dipstick on a BMW E36, first, ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is on a level surface. Remove the old dipstick if present, then insert the new dipstick fully into the dipstick tube. Make sure it sits securely and is not obstructed. Finally, check the oil level to confirm proper installation.

I is a bit different on some models (4 cyl VS 6 cyl) , but in the back of the engine there is a Red pulley on the drivers side right next to the intake manifold. That is the dipstick. Look in upper right of the engine bay in this photo: http://images.europeancarweb.com/features/0506_02z+1992_BMW_E36_325_4_Door+Underhood_M3_Supercharged_Engine.jpg
If your 325i is m50 and the m3 head is m50 it will fit. Or if both is m52.
To install the oil dipstick tube on a 1973 Oldsmobile Omega with a 350 CID engine, first ensure the engine is cool and clean the area around the dipstick tube opening. Insert the dipstick tube into its designated hole in the engine block, ensuring it seats properly. Secure it with the retaining bolt or clip if applicable, and then check that the dipstick can be easily inserted and removed. Finally, verify that there are no obstructions and that the tube is properly aligned.
If you have a transmission "Dipstick" which most cars do, you can slowly poor the tranny fuid in there (using a funnel) until it is at the appropriate level.(The dipstick will look a lot like your oil dipstick under your hood)
