2) Loosen jam nut for outer tie rod left and right side

3) separate outer tie rod from spindle on both left and right sides of the vehicle

4) remove outer tie rods (inner tie rods may also have to be removed)

5) remove hydraulic lines to the rack

6) lock the steering wheel

7) separate the steer knuckle from the rack

8) unbolt the rack and remove

9) reverse process with new rack which should also come with new inner tie rods

Extras: torque every thing to manufacture spec.

have vehicle aligned

refill rack with approved Power Steering fluid

use jack stands while vehicle is off th ground

Some racks have a bleed screw you can use some don't

every vehicle is different if you can tell me make model and year of vehicle it would be more useful

to start out you can manual bleed the system by filling the reservoir to fill line mark and leave the cap off. while the front wheels on the ground and the engine shut off, manually steer all the way left then all the way right many many times. this will work the air out of the system.
