Go by the miles travelled. Refer to the owners manual for the replacment schedule. A new oxygen sensor will give you better fuel economy and performance.
No, it is not a knock sensor at all. An AF (Air/Fuel Ratio) sensor is also know as a wide range oxygen sensor. It is the newer type oxygen sensor.
The oxygen sensor on any vehicle is located on under the car on the top of the muffler pipe just behind the cadallidic converter....do you know what the oxygen sensor looks like so you know what you're looking for?
Replace both of them.
Your engine managment light will come on ,if you recently purchaced 1 and the light still comes on the wiring could be the wrong way round if it is universal
To answer this i will need to know whatsize engine you have.
You will know, You'll get a fault code on your (OBC) on board computer system.
Let me know if you find out. i am having trouble locting which one is 1 and which is 2... I was told i needed to replace the #1 oxygen sensor
The code thrown will tell you which one is bad. Codes p0130 thru p0135 all refer to the upstream sensor under your coil packs. Codes p0136 thru p0141 all refer to the downstream sensor under the van.
Bank 2 is on the passenger side of the vehicle. Sensor 2 is down stream ( behind ) the catalytic converter. Second sensor from the manifold. May have 4 sensors.
Generally, the onboard diagnostics will tell you when you scan the computer codes.
argudfhnrtfhionrsthionoftghn pooooo I have this model vehicle with the same problem. My friend has a code reader which states my engine light is related to an emissions problem. We are going to change out the front oxygen sensor to see if this fixes the problem. There is a rear oxygen sensor that is harder to get to or there may also be a problem with the catalytic converters (expensive). Will let u know if the front oxygen sensor replacements worked
Go to the auto parts store and buy a scanner OBD1 or OBD2 and it will let you know why your check engine light is on and if the o2 sensor is bad
