Very carefully..
I tried this myself and gave up. You can't just drop the speakers since they are mounted from the top. You can't remove the speaker grills because they are mounted to the rear deck carpet (at least that is how it looked).
I didn't want to start removing the whole back end. If there is an easier way please let us know.
you do in fact have to take out the whole back end.. its a royal pain, and took me a while to do and more then likely you will have to use shallow mount speakers because of the bars that go to the trunk lid
Haha! im in the process of doing it right now actually, and i ran into a problem with my speakers being to big and they hit the bars he was talkin about before but what i did was rip the original speaker off its frame and glued my new speaker into it and they mount quite nicely now! But im trying to get the deck back on....
To remove the rear speakers on a 2009 Kia Spectra, first, disconnect the car battery to ensure safety. Next, remove the rear speaker grille by gently prying it off with a flat-head screwdriver or trim removal tool. Once the grille is off, unscrew the speaker mounting screws and carefully disconnect the speaker wires. Finally, lift the speaker out of the mounting location.
Begin by removing the speaker covers in your 2006 Toyota. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker.
REAR SPEAKER - JR41 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Fold down the rear seat backs. Remove C-pillar trim. Remove lower quarter trim behind rear seat backs. Remove fasteners from rear shelf trim. Pull out trim to access speaker. Remove speaker screws. Disconnect wire harness connector. Remove speaker (REAR SPEAKER-JR41). REAR SPEAKER - JR27 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Using a trim stick, pry the speaker grill from the trim panel. Remove speaker mounting screws (REAR SPEAKER - JR27). Remove speaker from trim panel. Disconnect wire harness connector from speaker.
Remove the rear speaker covers in your 1994 Chevy Cavalier. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the rear speakers.
Begin by removing the cover from your rear speakers. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker. The rear speakers will come out.

You have to remove the rear seats to be able to remove the rear side panels. Then you have to disconnect the wires to the speaker, unscrew the speaker, then reinstall the new one.
You will need to remove the rear door speaker covers. The Chevrolet blazer speaker covers are held in place with two retaining screws. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the speaker wiring harness.
