if it is anything like my 2002 Kia Optima V6. I had to remove the axle shaft remove the upper motor mount and then put a jack under the engine and raise it about an inch. this gave me enough room to remove the alternater. If you are not handy working on cars I suggest you find a good kia repair facility and let them do it. Because you have to tear the whole suspension apart.
