The rear brake rotor can be removed by removing the tire and then the brake caliper. The center of the rotor will be attached to a spindle. There will be a nut holding it in place. This nut is sometimes covered with a cap to prevent residue from building up. If you remove the cap, you'll see the nut on the hub. Removing this nut gets the rotor off.

To replace the rear brake pads on a Ford F-250, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks. Lift the rear of the truck using a jack, and support it with jack stands. Remove the rear wheels, then locate and unbolt the brake caliper; slide it off the rotor. Remove the old brake pads, compress the caliper piston, install the new pads, reassemble the caliper, and finally, reattach the wheels. Always check the brake fluid level and pump the brakes before driving.
