Remove the trany and you will see the flywheel bolted to the rear of the motor. Remove the bolts & replace the flywheel. Check the starter as a bad starter can chew the teeth off of a flywheel very quickly.
Have to remove the transmission.
Remove the transmission unbolt the flywheel and replace.

Seperate the engine and transmission
You will have to remove the transmission 1st. After doing that then just unbolt the flywheel and replace it.

If the truck is a 4 wheel drive it would be easier to remove the engine to replace the flywheel. If the truck is a 2 wheel drive removing the transmission and bell housing is the way to go.
About the only thing that can go wrong with a flywheel is for it to crack or loose teeth. In either case, you replace it, not repair.
