  • Detach the negative battery cable then the positive battery cable
  • If car is equipped with Delco Loc 2 or Theftlock audio system make sure you have the activation code first before disconnecting the battery cables
  • Detach any brackets or braces that would interfere with the removal of the battery then remove the hold-down clamp from the battery carrier
  • Carefully lift the battery out
