To replace the battery on a 2000 Porsche Boxster, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked on a flat surface. Open the front trunk and locate the battery compartment under the cover. Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal, and then remove the old battery. Install the new battery by connecting the positive terminal first, then the negative, and secure everything back in place before closing the trunk.

there is usually a set of connections in the fuse box. My 911 has a little plug that pulls out and you connect a 12V back up battery to unlock the hood. Use a spare battery or a vehicle battery (with engine off).
There are several Porsches in the remake of Gone In 60 Seconds: 1988 Porsche 959, 1999 Porsche 996, 2000 Porsche Boxster, 1961 Porsche Speedster. In the original film the Porsche stolen from an auto dealership is a Porsche 911.
Porsche typically manufactures between 2000 and 3000 Boxster cars a year. In 2012, Porsche sold 2519 Boxsters, which increased from 1735 the previous year. Since 2005, annual Boxster sales had fallen every year due to high gasoline prices and poor economic conditions until recovering in 2012.
To replace a clutch at the Porsche dealer for a 2000 911 Carrera is 2960.60....at least that is what I paid in Nov. '07. Eek.

It probably the airbag sensor. If it is a Boxster prior to 2000 it has just gone bad with age. Go to your local shop to have it replaced. It shouldn't be too expensive around $50 to $75 dollars depending on the shops mark up and price per hourly service.
