What exactly are you asking? how to install aftermarket springs or how do you install your lower control arm?
replace the upper control arm and take it to aligment shop it will be the right process
There is a four way head bolt on this arm. It will take a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen this. Once that is done then the arm will detach.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : There are ( 2 ) lower ball joints on the front suspension . Each lower control arm , drivers side and passenger side has ( 1 ) ball joint
no you do not have to remove the strut just take the lower control arm lose.

Currently it seems like you have no choice but to replace the complete arm, that is all I can find available.
If you mean the lower suspension arm (wishbone) ball joint, it is fixed into the arm. This means you need to replace the whole lower arm.
Towards your side
The bones of the lower arm are the radius and ulna. The radius is on the "thumb" side, and the ulna is on the "pinkie" side.
As far as I know in Nissan and Toyota trucks the ball joints are not compressible (can't be taken out) unfortunately the whole arm needs replaced the lower drivers side is about $362 for the part sans labor.
