To replace the lower control arm on a 2002 Ford Explorer, first, safely lift and support the vehicle on jack stands. Remove the wheel, then disconnect the sway bar link and the ball joint from the control arm. Next, unbolt the control arm from the frame and the pivot point, then remove the old control arm. Install the new lower control arm by reversing the disassembly steps, ensuring all bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications before reattaching the wheel.
Lower the fuel tank and remove fuel pump from tank.
ford will do it because there is a recall on this item
The bottom suspension components on a 2002 Suzuki XL-7 will need to be loosen so the lower control arm can come off. Loosen the ball joint and then the hardware to remove the lower control arm. Align the new arm properly and replace the unit.
Currently it seems like you have no choice but to replace the complete arm, that is all I can find available.
The entire solenoid group must be replaced .It is one unit.
