For a 1998 Nissan Altima, the recommended transmission fluid is Nissan ATF Type D or an equivalent automatic transmission fluid that meets the same specifications. It's important to check the owner's manual or consult with a professional to ensure the correct fluid is used, as using the wrong type can affect transmission performance. Additionally, maintaining the proper fluid level and condition is crucial for the longevity of the transmission.
The 2003 Nissan Altima's automatic transmission typically holds about 9 to 10 quarts of automatic transmission fluid when including the torque converter and cooler. However, the exact amount can vary depending on the specific transmission model and whether the system is being completely drained or just having the fluid changed. Always refer to the owner’s manual or a service manual for precise specifications.
The Nissan Altima GXE typically requires about 9 to 10 quarts of automatic transmission fluid for a complete fluid change, including the torque converter. However, it's always best to consult the owner's manual or a service manual for the specific year of your Altima to ensure you have the correct specifications. Additionally, if you're just draining and refilling the fluid, you may need less than the total capacity.
