The first thing to do is disconnect the battery from the truck. Then you will need to lossen the belt off the enginge. In order to go that their should be a tension puller on the front that a simple rachet and socket will do. you turn that till it lossens the belt and slide it off the alternator. If it doesn't have tension pulley then the alternator has a bolt that you lossen it to get the belt off. After you get the belt off you need to dissconect the wires on the back of the alternator then you can take the two bolts out of the alternator and simple pull it off.

On a 1995 Chevy Cavalier with a 2.2-liter engine, the voltage regulator is integrated into the alternator. To access it, you will need to remove the alternator from the engine bay. Once the alternator is out, the voltage regulator can be found inside the casing of the alternator itself. If you're experiencing issues, it may be necessary to replace the entire alternator, as the regulator is not typically sold separately.
