To remove the fuel pump from an '86 Toyota Supra, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical issues. Then, access the fuel pump, which is typically located in the fuel tank, by either removing the tank or accessing it through an access panel if available. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connections, then unbolt the fuel pump assembly from the tank. Finally, carefully lift the pump out and replace it as needed.

The fuel filter is located along the fuel line just prior to the fuel line entering the carburetor. This filter is a metal canister with 3 line fittings.
On a 1986 El Camino, the fuel filter is typically located along the fuel line, either beneath the vehicle near the fuel tank or along the frame rail. It's often mounted in a bracket or secured with clips. To access it, you may need to lift the vehicle for better visibility and reach. Always ensure to relieve fuel system pressure before attempting to replace the filter.
It's next to the fuel pump, behind the rear right tire.
Yes, a clogged or failing fuel filter in an '86 Ford Ranger can cause RPM fluctuations. When the filter is obstructed, it restricts fuel flow to the engine, leading to inconsistent fuel delivery. This can result in erratic engine performance, including fluctuating RPMs as the engine struggles to maintain the necessary power. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of the fuel filter can help prevent such issues.
