it stands for "electronic throttle system" this lights up if a fault is detected in the throttle unit. have a dealer look at this for you.

It worked for me. with the ignition switched on press the read button on the end of the stalk then press fog light switch twice this will put you in "in vehicle" diagnostics mode in the messages pane scroll though all the checks by pressing the read button til you get to the end hey presto warning light out The 2000 year model does not have a read button on the end of the stalk. That was not brought into production until the 2001 V70
