Put your key into the ignition, turn it to the first position and leave it on that position for 2 hours, eventually the word CODE will come back. If you can;t find the radio code card, you can get the 4-5 digit code from the dealer for free, don't let them charge you! They need the radio serial number and your VIN #. If you bought the Volvo radio on eBay then just bring in the serial number and tell them the radio was not purchased with the car. The radio serial number is usually printed on a sticker on the top of the radio, there are two spring latches on the old radios that pop out for radio removal.
I read another option for reseting the radio but did not try it, where you remove the fuse for the radio from the fuse box under the hood.
unplug it and plug it back in

my 2006 GMC Canyon stereo says MP3 on the front of it. How do I use it with my iPhone 4S?
Take it back to the dealer unfortunately!
I have the CD, but how do I reset my eclipse 5342 CD car stereo after power loss?
= This works fine.=
Push & hold the ON/OFF button for ~12 sec.
To reset a Kenwood stereo after replacing the car battery, first, turn on the ignition and power on the stereo. If it does not automatically reset, locate the reset button, usually found on the front panel or behind the faceplate, and press it with a small tool like a paperclip. This will restore the factory settings, allowing you to reconfigure your preferences, such as the time and radio presets. Finally, check the user manual for any model-specific reset instructions.
You should have gotten a card that has the anti-theft code when you bought the car. If you dont have the code then you'll have to go to your dealer to have them reset it or provide you the code.
i phoneVolvo dealer up and they told me to leave engine running for 2 hours and it work how ever u need a garage to leave u car running for 2 hours
Many newer vehicles have a theft device attached to the stereo and some other wiring in the car. you will either have to find a bypass for it, or check with GM to see if they can reset it for you.
Unfortunately you have to take your car to the dealer. No other options available.
