Two wheel abs will only have wheel speed sensors in the rear.
Four wheel abs will have wheel speed sensors at all four wheels.
2 wheel antilock brakes only work on the rear wheels, while 4 wheel antilock brakes work on all 4 wheels.
i have the exact same van, and i was told it was four wheel antilock.
1) First verify that disabling this safety feature is legal in your area. 2) Unplug a wheel speed sensor. This will deactivate the ABS system. It will also turn on the ABS light and if you have traction control, the TCS light.
What about them? 2 or 4 wheel drive?
It depends on what kind of car it is. Luxury and racing cars have 4-wheel brakes, but street cars have 2-wheel brakes.
this is a gm brake code 5 for Kelsey-Hayes RWAL (rear wheel antilock) 2 wheel trucks may have a failure of the isolation dump valve assembly, the shunt to relieve pressure so brakes won't lock up.
It would depend if your car has 4 wheel disc brake or only the front (2) has disc brakes. You would have one rotor for each wheel with disc brakes.
If vehicle has ABS antilock brake sys then probly a sensor on every wheel There is a speed sensor for the rear located on the rear differential, one sensor for both rear wheels. There are 2 in the front, one for each wheel
A 2007 Ford Explorer would have 4 wheel ABS ( Anti-lock Brake System )
For my 2000 model 1500, there are 2 sensors. one went bad on mine, located on the "pumkin" of the rear axle. the symptoms were erratic speedometer readings and the idiot light for the antilock brakes came on. seems this sensor data also feeds the computer for the antilock brakes. in actuality, the sensor didn't break. it works on magnetics, and the metal shavings inside the axle fouled it up. had to change the axle oil too.
It depends on the vehicle. If it has 4 wheel disk brakes it has 4, others have 2 rotors & 2 drums.
I am working on my 1994 Ext Cab Toyota Pickup and it has drum brakes.
