the battery will have a - mark on it which means neg., and the cable that is bolted to the engine block is the neg. cable, the pos. cable will go to the starter.
On the car battery, the positive wire is red and the negative wire is black. If the body of the car is metal or conducts electricity, then the body of the car serves as the negative wire. The metal in the engine serves as the negative wire.
The negative battery terminal is on the battery. They don't have a wire coming from it like they do the positive. For charging purposes, the engine block acts as the battery ground. When disconnecting the negative at the battery, the negative terminal usually has a black wire and the positive has a red.
Negative - (Black) is Ground, Positive + (Red) is Hot. Ground wire goes to Negative (Black) it goes from negative on battery to engine for ground.
run it and then disconnect the negative wire from the battery if alternator dies its bad.
The red battery wire goes on the positive + battery terminal no matter which side it is on. The black wire goes on the negative - terminal.
Usually on the Negative terminal of the battery.
The positive speaker wire is a solid color, your negative wire should have a stripe on it.
Depending on colours of course black is usually negative and the other colour (generally red but depends) is positive. Get a D-cell Battery. Now get two pieces of speaker wire. hold one wire on the positive terminal of the battery and hold the other on the negative side of the battery. touch the wires to the positive and negative posts on the speaker. if the cone moves out ward the positive and negative are correct if it moves inward then the positive and negative are reversed (out of phase.) this simple test will allow you to see which terminal is which. The red wire is Positive, (+) and the Black wire is Negative. (-)
Red, positive + cable to Positive + battery terminal. Black, negative - cable to Negative - battery terminal.
Red to positive, black to negative
Its a power source such as a battery - Wire from the Positive on the battery to one contact on the lamp and a wire from the Negative of the battery to the other contact on the bulb
