A fuel filter for a Pontiac Grand Am typically appears as a cylindrical or rectangular metal canister, often with inlet and outlet fuel lines attached. The filter may have a white or silver finish, with markings indicating the flow direction. Depending on the model year, it can be located along the fuel line, either under the vehicle near the fuel tank or along the chassis. It's important to consult the vehicle's manual for the exact specifications and location.
If the Bonneville is like my GTP then the fuel filter is in front of the fuel tank
If the car has the original Rochester carb on it, the filter is inside it. Follow the fuel line to the carb. There you will see what looks like a large hex nut. Loosen that and inside there is the filter available at any auto parts store.
sounds like you may have a clogged fuel filter
On a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT, the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank as part of the fuel pump assembly. To access it, you typically need to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle, as it's not designed for easy replacement like external fuel filters. Always ensure to follow safety precautions when working with fuel systems.
If it's like my 2006 Vibe, the fuel filter and pump are one unit and it's located inside the gas tank.
The fuel filter is located on the fuel line just in front of the passenger side rear tire. You will probably have to jack the car up to find it. The filter itself looks kind of like a tin can. Good Luck!
On my 79 the fuel filter sits in the front of the carb, where the fuel line comes in. It looks like part of the carb but you have to unscrew the fuel line and the filter will be inside the end of the carb or the tube depending on which side it sticks to. This is all assuming you still have the quadra-jet carb on the car of course.
It looks like what a fuel filter should be
The fuel filter is located under the car on the passenger side in front of the fuel tank. It is an inline fuel filter that looks like a small can. To replace it, remover the two fuel line connectors from each end and unbolt the bracket. Reverse the proceedures to install. Be sure you have the fuel flow direction going the right way. I have a 1990 Lemans, I assume the 1991 is the same.
you have to raise the back of the car. you can back it up on ramps. remember to block the wheels. (safety first). you can find the fuel filter under the car mounted on the floor pan just in front of the fuel tank. looks like a small can. hope this helps. vince
on top of the fuel tank
located under rear end of car looks like a can located near left rear tire
