because it's hooked up to a thing usually called the sender unit that's sitting in the tank. The sender unit usually have some sort of float which can follow the fuel level.
IT' CALLED A FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT..
Vehicles vary on how much gas is left in the reserve tank when the gauge starts flashing empty. Most vehicle manufacturers have it set up so that there is at least 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of gas left in the tank when the gauge flashes.
The fuel gauge is located in cars. It is used to tell how much fuel is left in the tank. When this gets low the tank will need filling up with more fuel.
Its probably the float in the gas tank that tells how much fuel is left in the tank... its sticking.
The float is located inside the gas tank. It moves up and down with the fluid level to signal your gas gauge how much fuel is left in the tank.
It indicates how much fuel is in the tank.
It send the signal to your fuel gauge to let you know the amount of fuel you have in your tank
The gauge on the bottom right is the fuel gauge. It is a digital gauge with bars that move down as you use fuel. There are 20 bars so when all are showing the tank is full. When 15 are showing you have 3/4 of a tank of fuel. When you see 10 you have half a tank. When 5 are showing you have 1/4 tank left. When it gets to the very last bar you have around 1.5 gallons of reserve fuel left. The arrow shows you the fuel filler door is on the passenger side.
That will depend on the capacity of the tank and the gauge of the steel used to make it.
The most likely problem is with the sending unit. The fuel sending unit is mounted inside of the gas tank, and sends a signal to the fuel gauge showing how much gas is left in the tank.
I assume you're talking about the sending unit (the part that tells the gauge on your dash how much is in the tank). It's in the gas tank. I'd check the dash gauge before going after the sending unit, since you have to drop the tank to get at it.
If you mean the " E " at the bottom of the fuel gauge that means the fuel tank is ( Empty , that there is no fuel left in the tank )
