Ford F150 can have either one or two converters. Depends on the year and model, I have a 92 F150 Flareside 5.0 and it has 2 catalytic converters. My 03 F150 supercrew has two. One at the back of each exhaust manifold. The one from the drivers side enters a crossover pipe that T's with the passenger side at the back of the transmission on the passenger side.
There are not two catalytic converters. Working towards the muffler from the flange, you have a RESONATOR, a CATALYTIC CONVERTER and finally a MUFFLER.
I would think no way, but also no way would you pass an emissions inspection w/o catalytic converters. Here in Maryland it is a bi-annual inspection.
They have 4...there is two on each side right before the Y pipe!
Mass airflow sensor and or aircharge sensor is bad
The 1999 Ford F-150 typically comes with two types of catalytic converters depending on the engine configuration: a single catalytic converter for the 4.2L V6 engine and dual catalytic converters for the 4.6L and 5.4L V8 engines. These converters are designed to reduce harmful emissions and meet environmental regulations. It's important to ensure that any replacement parts are compatible with the specific engine type to maintain optimal performance.
