A Northstar engine in a Cadillac DTS has eight spark plugs, as it is a V8 engine with two spark plugs per cylinder. The engine features a dual ignition system, which helps improve performance and efficiency. Each of the four cylinders on each bank of the V8 has its own spark plug.
A 97 Deville would be equipped with the Northstar V8 engine, therefore, it has 8 spark plugs.
double platinum Bosch gapped at .55 - pretty standard stuff!
Patience and common sense. If you have those, you'll be fine.
Front are easy to access, rear is the same but very tight. Remove plastic engine cover. The Northstar engine uses a coil pack that is directly over the spark plugs. It is right up front on top of the engine. It is held on by approx. 9 screws. Unscrew these and unplug the coilpack. spark plugs are located in the four holes in front of you. Same for rear of engine, just a little harder to get to.

The Eldorado of 1995 contains a Northstar transverse (sideways) mounted V-8 engine. The spark plugs on the forward bank of cylinders are right in front of you when you lift the hood. Look for four black wires coming out from under the engine shield and going down in to four litte holes on the camshaft covers. The rear bank are a little harder to get to, but they're back there, on the opposite side of the engine.
To change the spark plugs on a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the engine cover to access the spark plugs, then carefully disconnect the ignition coil connectors and remove the coils. Use a spark plug socket to unscrew the old spark plugs, then install the new ones, tightening them to the manufacturer's specifications. Reassemble by reinstalling the coils and connectors, followed by the engine cover, and reconnect the battery.
Torque the spark plugs to 11 lb/ft.
