What is the difference between a dump truck 427 and a Corvette 427?

The only company I'm aware of which marketed a 427 motor for commercial vehicles was Mack, who marketed a variant of the E-tech motor, rated at 427 horsepower. The two are as different as night and day. For one, the motor in a dump truck will be a diesel motor, vs. the petrol motor on a Corvette. The Mack Diesel motor displaces around 13 litres, vs. the seven litre displacement of the 427 CUID motor available in the Corvette - and there's your main difference, in that the "427" moniker on the side of a Mack truck indicated horsepower rating, whereas the "427" in reference to the Corvette's petrol motor represents cubic inch displacement.

How much fuel does a tandem dump truck use per hour?

In idle? The configuration of the tractor has nothing to do with determining that. It's the motor which does, and the consumption rate in idle for a motor would be the same for a tandem axle dump truck as it would be for the same motor in a road tractor, box truck, quad axle dump truck, cement mixer, etc.

Through what venues can one purchase a Mack dump truck?

Many cities have an authorized Mack Truck Dealership. They offer new and used Mack trucks for sale or can help you locate the model you want. If your city or surrounding area does not have a Mack Truck Dealer, you can also look in your local newspaper classified ads under "Used Heavy Equipment" for Mack Trucks.

What is the GVW of your 2004 Mack quad axle CV713 dump truck?

Please tell me you're not an owner/op who doesn't know this. Your manufacturer's GVW is going to be the combined weight ratings of the tandem and steer axles. If you have 40k rears and an 18k steer, you have a manufacturer's GVW of 58k - your pushers are aftermarket, and are not counted in the manufacturer's GVW. As for legal GVW, that depends on bridge law formula, and what your state's disposition is on primary and secondary roads. The last dump truck I drove was a tandem axle T800. I could gross 54k on secondary roads, but only 51.5k on the Interstate.

What is a 2004 RD6 Mack dump truck?

No such model for that year. The RD series (and you're probably thinking RD688 or RD690 - there never was an RD6) was discontinued at the end of the 90s, and replaced by the CV series Mack Granite.
