Depends on how the motorcycle is ridden and where. Normally you should change the oil every year if you ride around 50 hours per year. If you ride more than that or in dusty conditions, then change it twice a year. I highly recommend you use 100% Synthetic oil in this air cooled engine. In an air cooled engine it provides more protection. Use SAE 10w30 weight. Also just as important is to keep the air filter, clean, clean, clean. I cannot emphasis enough how important this is. Check the oil level regularly and keep it on the full mark. Do not overfill.
