It depends on how much food you eat and if you're a messy eater. If you eat slobbily, then clean it every day. If you eat better once every two days is good. I guess every weekend. In an ideal world it would be better to vacuum at least once everyday, especially in areas where there is high traffic and a lot of use of that space. If you have severe Allergies this would also be a great idea as it cuts down on animal hair and dander.

Since we are all so busy with our lives vacuuming twice a week seems to be the standard now. I suggest getting a smaller "dirt devil" type of vacuum just for areas that you eat over and use a lot! I use mine for under the table and in the living room where I have the most use.
