No - you should be able to splice in a new section of wire that replaces the broken segment.
Just be sure of course to well-cover the connections with electrical tape, shrink-tube or insulated electrical connector.
It can do that and a lot more damage, if completely broken it can break your radiator,dent your hood, rip harnesses and more so you should definetly replace them.

You have to replace the entire steering column. It is not loose, the lock is broken on your column height adjuster.
Pull steering wheel, remove steering plate to access turn signal switch. There are two swings as you look down at switch that should be broken. Your Cam spring is broken. best to replace turn signal switch

sounds like a broken linkage or mabe it just came loose I have a 99 Taurus same thing happened to me . It is the shift cable.
The impeller has probably broken a blade. You will need to replace the pump.
