maybe a fifth possiblity, your out of gas. There is a fourth possibility, it could be a blown fuse to the fuel pump.
THERE ARE THREE POSIBILITIES,FUEL PUMP, IMPROPER INSTALL OF FILTER, OR DEBRIS IN FUEL LINE AFTER FILTER Where is pump? Intank pump should be pushing fuel out supply line at filter...You should be able to hear it "rattling' when key is on until it builds pressure.
Under hood pump is SUCKING fuel from tank and maybe through filter...a small leak at filter will not maintain enough vacuum to pull fuel out of tank...reinstall filter with a little lube on o-ring and try again. Once pump is "primed" it will function much better.
wrong filter with wrong thread pattern.
If it's not getting enough fuel it could be the fuel pump or the fuel filter.
fuel pump, wiring, relay, clogged filter, kinked fuel line.
Wrong size filter for the engine, filter too tight or too loose, filter has a hole in it, or gasket not oiled before installation thus causing it to leak. The old gasket could have been left on the engine thus causing a leak with 2 gaskets installed.
The engine might not be getting any fuel. The engine may also have weak or no fire at the spark plugs. Check these two places to find the problem.
engine timing
Vacuum leak?
You need to make sure that there is not a o-ring stuck on the engine block from the old filter. sometimes the old gasket will stick to the engine block when you change the oil filter and it will leak everytime. If you don't find the problem there, then you will need to ask your question again.
Likely caused by a bad filter that allows air to circulate in the engine, also could mean you have bad pistons, alternator, converter, or perhaps a misfire in the engine, if not then there could be something else wrong in the engine Best option is to have your car dianosed
IS the check engine light on? The computer has the capability of putting the car in a "limp home mode" if somethign is wrong. If no check engine light, your fuel filter may be clogged and blocking fuel or the fuel pump is getting weak.
It sounds like the engine is not getting sufficient fuel. Check to see if the fuel pump is working correctly and ensure the fuel filter is not clogged. There could also be sediment in a fuel line limiting or blocking fuel flow.
it could be your engine mounts are needing replaced
