Runs Hot. Mine too. Found out that the auxillary fans may not be kick in, even though thermostats may work. Check fan belts and switch.
Thermostat messed up, Oil needs to be changed, no antifreeze in the radiator, radiator fan is not working properly
I suspect that either your thermostat is plugged with debris from the radiator change or that the thermostat was replaced backwards. The spring side should be towards the block.

Check the blend door system. The door controls the air flow under the dash, and can cause cold air to come out.
Hi, Check to see if your vehicle need to have the thermostat changed or if the radiator is clogged which will make the antifreeze not flow to keep your engine cool. Clogged radiators is a known issue. Hope this helps you.
Are you sure that isn't antifreeze and if so that would indicate the radiator is defective. There is a transmission oil cooler in the radiator.
Blown head gasket?
a new heater core
I would check the hoses leading into your radiator, and also the overflow for antifreeze. If that is not the problem, it could be your heater core. Your heater core might be leaking, you might have a hose leaking
The thermostat on a Chrysler PT Cruiser is changed by disconnecting the upper radiator hose, unbolting the thermostat housing, and removing the thermostat. A new unit can then be put in place and reattached.
