While it may be okay to put Bars into your transmission system. It is NOT recommended. Eventually the stop leak material builds up in you shift valve passages and causes your transmission to enter "Limp Mode". This makes your transmission run poorly until you get it serviced which can cost quite a bit more than just fixing the original problem properly.

Can you use heavy duty motor oil in a transmission?

No. HD motor oil is designed to lubricate engine internal components and in most cases contains detergents that help keep the engine clean. If it were a manual transmission and you had to add oil in an emergency situation to get to a repair shop, yes HD motor oil could work. If it is an automatic transmission, NO!!! This would destroy the transmission. Jim

Do you need to change engine oil for repair to clutch?

Yes, it's generally advisable to change the engine oil when repairing the clutch. During the repair process, the oil may become contaminated with debris or leaks from the transmission, which can affect engine performance. Additionally, fresh oil can help ensure that all components operate smoothly after the repair. However, if the oil is relatively new and clean, it might not be necessary to change it.
