Driving with a bad transmission speed sensor is not advisable, as it can lead to erratic shifting, poor acceleration, and even potential damage to the transmission. Additionally, it may affect your vehicle's ability to gauge speed accurately, which can pose safety risks. If you suspect the sensor is malfunctioning, it’s best to have it inspected and repaired by a professional mechanic to ensure safe driving conditions.
Check your motor and tranny mounts to make sure everything is tight and not moving the transmission. Also check vehicle speed sensor.
as long as the bell houseing and the tail stokes line up you should be ok drive safe
On my 1990 Voyager, the transmission has a "safe," or "limp" mode. If something is wrong with the trans, it will not shift out of second gear. This is supposedly to allow you to drive to the repair shop at a reduced speed.
Always
Have it checked for codes. The tcm has detected a problem and it has gone into safe mode. If your speedometer is also acting wacky then it is the outgoing speed sensor for your transmission
Safe, yes, smart, no. Damage can occur to the Catalytic Converter.
The 2000 Service Manual defines that code as: "EGR Position Sensor Rationality". Their description is: "EGR position sensor signal does not correlate to EGR duty cycle." Is it safe to drive? You'll have to decide.
A transmission position refers to the specific gear or setting in a vehicle's transmission system that determines how power from the engine is delivered to the wheels. Common positions include "Park," "Reverse," "Neutral," and various drive gears (e.g., Drive, Low). Each position affects the vehicle's speed, acceleration, and maneuverability. Understanding transmission positions is crucial for safe driving and proper vehicle operation.
the speed sensor is in back of speedo clock change the clocks if faulty as it puts your car in safe mode and wont go past 3000 revs
yes toyota are safe. it won't be safe if u don't follow the law. just drive at the right amount of speed .
Brakes should work just fine, the speed sensor feeds information to the abs and traction control parts of the computer so wheel speed can be equalized through selective automatic braking.
The top gear on the transmission will be marked 'OD' usually. If you have more than a three speed automatic or four speed manual transmission, it's a pretty safe assumption that you do.
