If there is any kind of part attached to the exahust manifold, it will either be an EGR valve (emissions) or an Oxygen sensor (emissions and fuel/air control). Not sure what you mean by a "heater valve" but the only thing in your engine bay that produces heat for the cabin would be the antifreeze which runs through the heater core somewhere behind the dash, possibly on the passenger side, depending on the vehicle.
block heater on a ford diesel is actually not a block heater but an oil heater this heater is located on the back right side of the oil cooler on side of engine under the exhaust manifold a block heater in an engine actually is in the block

On the drivers side of the engine , above the exhaust manifold
the valve on intake port side and exhause valve on exhaust manifold side.
There is no heater control valve fitted on a Ford Escort. The heater matrix is directly connected to the engine's cooling system. To reach the heater matrix, you should remove all the facia unfortunately... :(
The heater control valve on a 2000 Ford E250 van is typically located in the engine compartment, near the firewall on the passenger side. It is connected to the heater hoses that run from the engine to the heater core. You may need to remove some components or covers for better access, but it is generally mounted on or near the intake manifold area. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for the exact location and any specific procedures related to your model.
Heat control is by air flow control doors in the a/c and heater box. There is no water valve.
It is located behind the bulkhead, accessible from the engine bay.
where is the heater control valve for a 1997 ford expedition
It is located at the passenger side rear of the valve cover under the intake manifold.
The egr valve is located on the back center of the engine. It is right under the intake manifold.
The heater control valve on a 1995 Ford Explorer is typically located on the engine compartment's firewall, near the passenger side. It's connected to the heater hoses, which run from the engine to the heater core. You may need to remove some components or inspect closely to access it, as it can be somewhat hidden by other parts. Always ensure the engine is cool before attempting to locate or service the valve.
