No.
how do you connect the wire from the alternater to the starter?
There is not a fusible link between the alternator and starter. There is a regulator on the alternator. The starter is directly connected to the battery, as is the alternator.
Indirectly. The positive cable on the battery is hooked to the starter. The other wire on the starter post goes up to the alternator.
It's located on the end if the main power wire coming off the alternator. This wire connects to the starter. The fusible link is located on the starter end of the wire.
the positive wire that recharges the battery after being drained from the starter
Positive
the starter, battery and the alternator are good, icheck and change the the wires but the light inside the dashboard, the headlights come on but the truck will not start.
2 wire has a live wire to energise the field where as the single wire alternator self energises and does not need the powered feed.
There is a wire from the alternator to the starter motor. On the starter motor end, there is a fusible link that sometimes melts. With the engine off, check the battery volts and check the volts on the big red alternator wire. If they are not the same voltage, the link is open. If the link is open, the battery will not charge
You do not connect any wire from the alternator to the starter. The positive wire from the alternator should run to the positive on the battery, and the negative wire (if equipped) should run to the engine block (or any suitable ground). Most alternators are already grounded by the bolts holding them to the engine, but some do have a negative wire.
Possible Faulty wire or even a starter or alternator failure.
The 07 Saturn Aura does not have an alternator fuse, and technically it is a generator not an alternator. There is a large gauge wire from the generator to the starter, this is a fuseable link. Check for 12 vdc at the large terminal of the generator, if is missing check the terminal on the starter. If the starter has 12 vdc and the generator does not, the link is bad and must be replaced. DO NOT REPLACE the link with wire, a fuseable link must be used.
