If it's the brake light on the dash, it may mean that your brake fluid is low or there's an error with the ABS system. Low brake fluid isn't cause for worry once you've filled it, unless your master cylinder is failing or you've got a leak in a line somewhere. If it's an ABS error and the light says ABS, you can diagnose it if you have access to an OBD-II that can read ABS codes. Of course, that's only 1996 and newer models.
If it's the brake on the rear of the vehicle that signal to the driver behind you that you've applied your brakes, then yes. It's unsafe and if law enforcement sees you brake and the light doesn't come on, you can get a ticket. In some jurisdications, it can even get your car impounded. Be careful. It could mean the bulb or the socket is bad. Those are super easy to fix. The brake light relay, which is under the hood in a box labelled for relays and fuses, may be bad. It's easy to fix too and usually isn't that expensive. You just pull the old one out and pop the new on in. It could also be the brake light switch, which is under the brake pedal. Those usually aren't that expensive either, but can be difficult to replace.
No matter which light it is, you should get it addressed as soon as possible.
yes it more than likely means your car light needs to be changed
You shouldn't worry about it cause your not going out right? If that is the case, you shouldn't worry about it too much.
well in my 72 super, the brake light comes on and stays on everytime i start it and i havent had any problems. I'm not sure what exactly the problem is or if there is one at all. does the car run with it on? if it does then i wouldn't worry about it.
This is a warning that the brakes are in need of service soon. See your mechanic.
there is a switch that trip when the brake is pulled. The switch itself is probably just stuck. Its nothing you need to worry about unless the light is just annoying. Another possiblity is that the emergency brake could be partially engaged and stuck. If this is the case you can free it up by getting under the car and tapping it bad with a hammer.
don't worry about it and move on cause obviously they got something going on
Did you use ceramic brake pads? If so, that could be the problem. Unless it's super bad, you don't really have anything to worry about. Next time, use semi metallic brake pads. Also if the rotors were not turned this will surely cause disk brake squeal.
1. Remove the third brake light by unscrewing the two bolts that hold it in. 2. Unplug the third brake light from it's wiring. 3. Strip back the positive (black and red), negative (black), and brake (green) wires. 4. Using electrical tape, attach your neon license plate wires accordingly. 5. Plug the third brake light back into it's plug 6. Have someone press the brake and see if it lights up. 7. Screw the third brake light back into it's spot. If you wire something wrong, don't worry. The WORST you can do is blow a fuse in the fuse box. Nothing will blow up... Enjoy!
Could be as simple as low brake fluid (which indicates a leak in the system, as brake fluid is not normally 'consumed') or something as critical as a fault in your car's brake system. either way, take it to a mechanic to check - or to a friend that has a OBD computer/downloader to check for faults. If no faults are found, and your brake fluid is not low - keep an eye on it, but don't worry about it.
Worry cannot cause a direct illness but can indirectly cause an illness to arise. Worry causes stress on the body and immune system making it easier for illnesses to grow and spread.
"Disrupt" is a word that means to disturb or cause worry or difficulties.
Ain't Gonna Worry was created in 1990.
